Studying on fatigue damage assessment of topside module structures of floating storages in operating conditons in Vietnamese sea areas

Abstract

There are some basic differences between the fatigue analysis for topside module structures of floating structures in general and floating storages in particular and those for fixed offshore structures which has been familiar in current standards. The differences are expressed from fatiguing causes to analysis procedure. This article airms to research, clarify the involved problems and build the fatigue damage assessment procedure for topside module structures of floating storages in operating conditions in accordance with ABS standards, the application example is for the fatigue analysis of topside module of VSP-01 floating storage exploited at Bach Ho field with SACS and ANSYS software. The research results can be used for actual projects which will be done in Viet Nam.
